Our wonderful 2011 students have now graduated from their Foundation Year at the centre into our Outplacement Programme. All 35 graduates have now been placed successfully into the Outplacement Programme. A fantastic 23 students have won places at secondary school, 2 into teacher training with others into various vocational courses including Laboratory Technician and Electrician training. We are immensely proud!
Of course this is a time for celebration, with the last day of term filled with fun - including a talent show and a visit from Father Christmas!
This year, Graduation was held at The Umoja Centre, in a marquee in the compound. The rain stayed away and celebrations continued into the evening! We all had a fantastic (if a little emotional!) time, with dancing, a fashion show, speeches of thanks and a big lunch prepared by our budding chefs (previous graduate), Mama Rose and Esta. MC Gerry took the lead for the day, ensuring the students had the best day possible. Outstanding students received awards for achieving top marks in each subject, happily receiving gifts of watches. The highest achieving students overall for each class were Ritha Fidelis and Michael Gombe. Well done all!
