Our Mission
Umoja Tanzania’s mission is to create a centre of learning and thinking that empowers young people to create change in their lives and the wider community. The Umoja Centre gives young people the opportunity to complete basic education and find employment while at the same time encourage independent and creative thinking.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see the disadvantaged youth of Arusha, Tanzania, educated and empowered so they are able to gain meaningful employment and make informed choices about their lives.
Our Objectives
- To provide direct relief from poverty through education to young adults without discrimination.
- To provide free education, vocational training and career guidance for young adults.
- To partner with government, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders on initiatives to eradicate problems affecting young people.
- To provide information services to our students and the wider community.
- To engage young people in recognising the issues effecting themselves, their community and the wider world.
- To provide a space for community development and cohesion, including recreation and leisure activities.
- To be environmentally sustainable in the creation of the centre and its ongoing activities.
- To work for the protection, development and survival of youth.
