Umoja UK is the fundraising body for The Umoja Centre in the UK. All money raised goes directly to the Centre and all board members are voluntary. Umoja UK is a registered Trust in the UK under HM Revenue & Customs (Ref XT18817).
This means that Umoja UK is tax exempt and eligible for the Gift Aid scheme. A Gift Aid declaration is a statement by a UK taxpayer asking for their donations to be treated as Gift Aid payments, so that the tax they have paid on the amount donated can be claimed back by the charity receiving the donation.
